Every morning, outside one of Mumbai's busiest cancer hospitals, a quiet queue begins to form. It is not a queue for treatment. It is a queue for food.
The people standing in it are cancer patients who have travelled from small towns and villages, sometimes hundreds of kilometres, to reach Mumbai for chemotherapy. Beside them stand their mothers, fathers, spouses, and children — the relatives who have left behind their homes, their jobs, and their savings to sit through long hospital corridors, holding hands during the hardest days of someone they love.
What most people don't realise is this: cancer doesn't just take away health. It takes away income. It takes away routine. And very often, it takes away the ability to even afford a proper, nutritious meal.
Chemotherapy is brutal on the body. Patients need strength to endure it — and strength comes from food. But when a family has already spent everything on hospital bills, medicines, and travel, food becomes the first thing they compromise on. We have seen patients skip meals just so their attendants can eat. We have seen relatives eat one meal a day, sitting on hospital floors, so they can afford one more day near the hospital.
This is where Riddhi Siddhi Charitable Trust steps in.
Every single day, without fail, we prepare and distribute wholesome, nutritious food to cancer patients and their families near Mumbai's cancer hospital. Not just any food — food that is made keeping in mind what a patient undergoing chemotherapy actually needs: easy to digest, protein-rich, and prepared with the same care we would want for our own family.
Every plate of food we serve costs money — for ingredients, cooking, transport, and the volunteers who show up every single day, rain or shine, to make sure no patient goes hungry while fighting for their life.
Your contribution, however big or small, directly becomes a meal. It becomes strength for a patient to sit through another round of chemotherapy. It becomes relief for a tired relative who hasn't eaten properly in days. It becomes hope — the quiet kind, that says "someone cares."
Cancer is already an unfair fight. Hunger shouldn't have to be part of it too.
