My name is Fateh Ashraf Hussain Shaikh. I am a husband, a father, and today, I am fighting the hardest battle of my life — trying to save my wife.

My wife, Rukaiya Fateh Shaikh, is only 26 years old. She is a mother to our 7-year-old daughter and 5-year-old son.

But today, instead of being at home with her children, she is lying in a hospital bed, fighting Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia (APML) — a serious form of blood cancer.

All I Want Is To Bring My Wife Home.

Rukaiya was diagnosed with APML in July 2026. Since then, our lives have revolved around hospitals, medicines, medical reports, and fear.

She is undergoing intensive treatment at HCG Cancer Care Hospital, including ATRA, Arsenic Trioxide, and chemotherapy. Her condition remains extremely difficult. She has experienced mouth bleeding and falling platelet counts, making every day of her treatment a battle.

There are moments when I sit beside her and don't know what to say. I want to tell her everything will be okay. But deep inside, I am terrified — because I know how serious her condition is.

"I Am Trying Everything I Can."

I work as a phlebotomist and earn approximately ₹25,000 a month. I never imagined that one day I would have to arrange lakhs of rupees just to keep my wife alive.

We have already spent approximately ₹4.5 lakh on her treatment. We borrowed money from friends and relatives. Whatever little we had is already gone.

But Rukaiya's treatment cannot stop. The estimated cost of her remaining treatment is around ₹31 lakh. For someone earning ₹25,000 a month, ₹31 lakh is not just a large amount — it feels impossible.

But giving up on my wife is not an option.

"Our Children Keep Waiting for Her."

Our children are too young to fully understand what is happening. Our 7-year-old daughter and 5-year-old son are currently staying with their maternal grandmother in Pune.

They are waiting for their mother. They want to see her smile. They want to hear her voice. They want her to come home.

And every time I think about them, I become even more determined to fight. Because Rukaiya isn't just my wife. She is their mother.

I keep imagining the day Rukaiya walks through our door again. Our children running towards her. Her holding them in her arms. That ordinary family moment has become our biggest dream.

But for that dream to become reality, Rukaiya needs to continue her treatment. And we desperately need financial support.
